Piikani RCMP charge male with firearms offences 

A 37-year-old male has been charged with 23 criminal offences, including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (x7), Unsafe Storage of a Firearm (x7), Possession Contrary to Prohibition Order (x8) and Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000. Jessie Flett was remanded into custody after a Judicial Interim Release. His next court appearance is Mar. 28 in Pincher Creek. 

On Mar. 18, while following up on a theft of a motorcycle, Piikani RCMP located a blue GMC pickup truck at a residence near Brocket that had previously been involved in a flight from police in Fort Macleod Mar. 12. 

A search warrant was conducted at the residence that resulted in the seizure of seven rifles, ammunition and miscellaneous firearms parts. 

Flett was also charged under the Traffic Safety Act with being the registered owner of a vehicle involved in dangerous driving and failure to stop for police, as well as entering land without permission under the Petty Trespass Act.
