Sweet music is in the air with the return of the Upside Downtown Concert Series, featuring primarily local talent.
“It’s all a part of the Allied Arts Council’s initiative of enhancing and advancing the arts in Lethbridge,” says Steven Foord, manager of engagement.
The concert series got its start in 2021 and performances are held at Rotary Square in front of CASA every Thursday through July and August from 5-7 p.m.
“We’ve been very fortunate. We’ve had a built-in audience. It’s a great way of exposing some of these new and emerging bands. We have a wealth of talent in our city, when it comes to music and when it comes to the arts,” adds Foord. “You’re walking around downtown; you hear the music and you come down and participate. It’s good to see people out in the downtown area. It’s part of what contributes to a beautiful downtown.”
Foord adds Upside Downtown is one of many events going on downtown through the summer. “Folks can come down and be a part of it.”

“Lethbridge has a thriving music scene. The Upside Downtown Concert Series is a fantastic way to highlight the incredible talent we have right here in our city,” says Jana Mackenzie, AAC executive director. “We’re excited to welcome everyone back to Rotary Square for what promises to be another unforgettable summer of music.”
