Raymond announces Dr. Terry Smith as Canada Day Parade marshal

Dr. Terry Smith has been announced as Raymond’s Canada Day Parade marshal. 

Each year, the Rotary Club of Raymond selects an individual to lead the parade who has made a notable contribution to the community and/or region in an exemplary way. 

Smith was born in Raymond in 1947 and completed his grade school education in Raymond schools. He has been practising family medicine at the Raymond Medical Clinic for 49 years. 

In addition to his local practice, Smith has served in a number of other capacities in the
medical field, including three years as a member of the Provincial Mental Health Advisory
Board, medical director of the Raymond Care Centre for 20 years, senior medical director
of Addictions and Mental Health Services in the Chinook Health Region for 15 years and a
member of the provincial Mental Health Council and delegate to the provincial
Council of Chief Executive Officers for the Alberta Health Regions. 

The parade kicks off at 10 a.m.
