A baby donkey was born last month at Fort Whoop-Up and you are invited to choose a name for the new member of the family.
“Our excitement is through the roof with the arrival of our newest team member this year. Our beloved donkey, Jackie, has given birth to a healthy boy,” says Connor Kenney, Fort Whoop-Up site coordinator, who has played a significant role in caring for the newborn.
Kenney adds everyone is encouraged to visit the Fort and take part in the naming contest. “Simply visit the front desk, write your suggested name on a sticky note and place it on our whiteboard.”
“If you’re in the park this summer, make sure to pop in and say hello to our youngest team member,” adds Dr. Sarah Newstead, CEO and executive director of the Galt Museum & Archives and Fort Whoop-Up.
