Rob Miyashiro earns NDP nomination for Lethbridge-West by-election

Rob Miyashiro will be on the ballot for the Alberta NDP for the yet to be determined by-election in Lethbridge-West. Miyashiro was the lead vote getter from Saturday’s tally, which say a turnout for the nomination of 73 per cent from 1,516 eligible voters

“The Alberta NDP is stronger in Lethbridge-West than we have ever been. We are energized by our new leader, Naheed Nenshi, and we are ready to stand up for the issues that matter to Lethbridge in this by-election,” said Miyashiro.

‘We are for a better, more prosperous future, a healthier Alberta that values fairness, public services, and strong communities.”

Currently the executive director of the Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization, Miyashiro also previously served two terms on Lethbridge City Council. Miyashiro will try and re-claim the seat vacated by former
NDP MLA Shannon Phillips, who left the legislature on July 1st of this year.

No date for the by-election has been called, however, one must be called no later than January 1st, 2025.
