Vulcan County man charged in death of Lethbridge woman

The RCMP has charged a Vulcan County resident with second-degree murder in connection to the death of a Lethbridge woman. 

On Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at around 11:14 a.m., Oyen RCMP responded to a location where they say clothes and other personal items were found in a treeline along a rural road near Oyen. The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit was dispatched to the area after the situation was deemed suspicious. 

An adult victim was later found and identified as a 28-year-old Lethbridge woman. 

Garry Dean Brown, 61, has since been charged. He remains in police custody and is due in court in Hanna on Wednesday, September 25.
