Paving and patchwork to close Bridge Drive West Thursday

Drivers are advised that crews will be paving and patching up potholes on Bridge Drive West in Lethbridge on Thursday, September 26.

Beginning at 7 a.m., both directions of Bridge Drive West will be closed for the project. Motorists using Highway 3 can access west Lethbridge using University Drive West. Whoop-Up Drive can also be used as an alternate route to get to the city’s west side.

Officials say businesses along Bridge Drive West will still be open:

  • Access to the Bridge Drive Recycling Station and businesses around the Galt #8 Mine will be available by way of University Drive West.
  • Access to the Bridge Valley Golf Course and the Elizabeth Hall Wetlands will be available by using Highway 3.

The City of Lethbridge says this is expected to only be a one-day closure, weather permitting. Bridge Drive West is scheduled to be re-opened by 7 a.m. on Friday, September 27. Further updates on the project will be posted at the City’s online interactive WebMap.
