UPDATE: Fog advisory ended for parts of southern Alberta

UPDATE: Environment Canada has ended the fog advisory for the Picture Butte, Turin, Enchant, Vauxhall and Hays areas.

Parts of the Lethbridge region are under a fog advisory Friday.

Environment Canada issued the advisory in the early morning Friday due to dense fog patches that in some areas were causing people to have zero visibility. Impacted areas include the Picture Butte, Turin, Enchant, Vauxhall and Hays.

According to the advisory from the federal agency, “Areas of freezing drizzle are also expected, which will make surfaces slippery.”

Due to the reduced visibility in areas, drivers are advised to prepare to slow down, be prepared to stop and watch for tail lights ahead.

Conditions are expected to improve throughout the afternoon according to the Environment Canada advisory.
