Kodiaks honour former player with annual memorial tournament

The Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks honour a former student-athlete this weekend.

The Haylie Shoults Memorial Futsal Tournament is an annual one-day event hosted by the Kodiaks women’s soccer and futsal programs.

Futsal is played indoors and is comparable to sports like indoor soccer.

Funds raised as part of the event go toward the Haylie Shoults Memorial Award. That is a women’s soccer scholarship aimed at honouring the late player’s legacy. Shoults passed away in 2021 and that year, the inaugural edition of the tournament was held.

The 2024 tournament is on Saturday, December 7 in the Val Matteotti Gym.

More information on getting involved is available at the Kodiaks website.
