ALERT charges Lethbridge trio, issue warrants for five others for drug trafficking

Three people are facing charges for drug trafficking and warrants for five others have been issued after a significant amount of drugs was seized from the downtown core.

According to police, the ALERT Lethbridge team concluded an investigation into the sale of fentanyl on Lethbridge streets. When the investigation wrapped up on December 6th, ALERT with the help of Lethbridge Police is reported to have seized a significant amount of fentanyl in powder form and 2.60 grams of meth.

ALERT Lethbridge Staff Sargent Trevor Sheppard says the getting any amount of fentanyl off the streets as it can be extremely deadly, with the killing power is measured in micrograms.

“But more importantly, these suspects were actively involved in selling fentanyl and further exacerbating the opioid crisis in our community,” Sheppard says.

Police have charged John Jones, Aaron Laley and Jordan Lehbauer with at least one charge of drug trafficking. Arrest warrants have also been issued for Randi Bull Calf, Kaylene Jacklin, Justin Kashane, Celina Twigg and Jason Mercer.
