Coaldale celebrates outstanding contributions in the community

The Coaldale Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Coaldale are proud to announce the 43rd Annual Awards and Appreciation Banquet, a prestigious event celebrating the outstanding contributions made by individuals, businesses and non-profit groups.

“This event is a celebration of the individuals and businesses that help make Coaldale a thriving and active community,” says Robert Woolf, president of the Chamber. “Their dedication and hard work often go unnoticed. This is our opportunity to recognize their incredible contributions to our community.”

Following a thorough review of public nominations, the Chamber and Town are thrilled to reveal this year’s award recipients.  

These honourees have shown remarkable achievements and a lasting impact on the community.

Coaldale Chamber of Commerce Awards 
Business of the Year: Coaldale Bakery
Customer Service of the Year: Adam Price, Westland Insurance
Citizen of the Year: Doreen Lloyd
Group Citizens of the Year: Coaldale and Regional PAWS
Special Tribute: Christian Connon, Rehoboth Christian Ministries

Town of Coaldale Awards 
Athlete of the Year: Micheal Barwegen
Recreation Leader of the Year: Nic Voorhorst
Community Artists of the Year: Jheri Cook and Criss Wiebe
Environmental Excellence Award: FortisAlberta
Youth Citizen of the Year: Abigail van der Molen 

The Awards and Appreciation Banquet will take place Feb. 8 in the Civic Square Atrium.  

“We invite everyone to come together for this exceptional evening to honour the outstanding achievements of our community members,” adds Coaldale Mayor Jack Van Rijn. “Your presence will not only celebrate their accomplishments, but also highlight the strength and unity of our community.”
