More than $16K in drugs seized by LPS

A complaint about a suspicious vehicle led to Lethbridge police Lethbridge Police seizing a significant amount of drugs and laying trafficking charges in connection.

According to police officers responded to a report about a suspicious vehicle in a southside neighbourhood on December 19th. Police officials say officers from the Crime Suppression Team and Property Crimes Unit reported what they saw was allegedly consistent with drug trafficking. Police later arrested the 28-year-old driver along the 100 block of 1st Avenue South and executed a search warrant of the vehicle where they seized a significant amount of fentanyl and meth, along with heroin; all of which is estimated to be worth $16,900. Roughly $9,727 in cash was seized as well.

Alannah Rilley Anderson is facing charges for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000.

She has since been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court next on January 28th.
