Local fire crews were kept busy Friday morning, knocking down two separate blazes.
Responders from three stations were sent out just after 3 a.m. on February 7 to tackle a shed fire in the 300 block of 23 Street South. Officials say flames spread to a fence and small utility trailer before the fire was contained, which prevented any other damage. The fire caused an estimated $30,000 to $50,000 in damage.
Just after 4 a.m., a garage fire was reported in the 600 block of 15 Street South. It spread to an adjacent fence before firefighters from three stations brought it under control. This incident resulted in estimated damages of $25,000 to $30,000.
Officials say there were no injuries in either case, and both fires are under investigation.
