Raising a glass and fork to producers on Canada’s Agriculture Day

Today is a day to celebrate Canadian agriculture.

The country marks Canada’s Agriculture Day on February 11.

To mark the occasion, you are encouraged to make an all-Canadian meal, with recipe ideas available online. Additionally, the Ag More Than Ever team suggests you snap a photo or video celebrating agriculture and tag it on social media using #CdnAgDay.

Ag More Than Ever is a forum where industry members come together to share their love for agriculture on social media. The platform started in 2012 by Farm Credit Canada, with the Canadian Centre for Food Integrity taking over its leadership in 2021.

“Canada’s Ag Day is a reminder that our food system is more than just a source of nourishment – it’s a fundamental part of our national identity,” says Lisa Bishop-Spencer, executive director of the CCFI.

“From the stewards of our land to the pioneers of agriculture innovation, each of us has a role in ensuring Canada’s food system remains trusted, sustainable, and resilient in the face of global challenges.”

A series of videos highlighting the country’s food system is available through the CCFI’s It’s Good Canada program. Canada’s Agriculture Day was started in 2017.
