Vulcan County woman pleads not guilty to trying to mail animals

A southern Alberta woman, accused of trying to send a kitten and a puppy in the mail, will go to trial in the spring.

53 year old Jill Marshall is charged with causing an animal to be in distress. She entered a not guilty plea in Lethbridge Provincial Court Tuesday (Oct. 8)

Officials with Vulcan County Enforcement Services say a woman tried to mail the two small animals by leaving them in a cardboard box at a post office in Milo this past May.

The puppy and kitten reportedly had stamps on them.

Marshall’s trial is scheduled for May 28th, next year.
