U of L set to host High School Ethics Bowl

The University of Lethbridge hosts a unique debate-style event for students this weekend.

On Saturday, March 1, the local post-secondary’s inaugural High School Ethics Bowl will feature two teams from Lethbridge Collegiate Institute and one from Chinook High School, with the event happening from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Anderson Hall. 

Teams will discuss and debate their thoughts on different societal questions.  

Undergraduate students from the U of L and collegiate ethics bowl team members will be moderators. Department of Philosophy faculty and a graduate student will act as judges. 

The Lethbridge event is one of three regional competitions in Alberta. 

The winning club moves on to face winners from Calgary and Edmonton at a provincial tournament in the spring. The program wraps up with the National High School Ethics Bowl at the Canadian Museum of Human Rights in Winnipeg.
