Futsal is at the forefront this weekend, as the Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks women’s futsal team has travelled to Lakeland College in Lloydminster to compete in this year’s Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference Championships.
The team enters this tournament as the third-ranked seed from the South, positioning them in the same pool and up against the second-ranked team from the North, the Keyano College Huskies and the first-place team from the South, the SAIT Trojans.
The team faces a challenging, but not impossible path to claiming an ACAC banner. The top teams advance to the semifinals Sunday, while the second- and third-placed teams from each group will compete in the quarterfinals on Saturday evening.
