On Friday, the Helen Schuler Nature Centre invites you to celebrate the change of seasons at Spring Nature Fest from 1-5 p.m.
This annual free family festival will feature interactive activities by the Oldman Watershed Council, the Southern Alberta Rockhounds, Lethbridge Polytechnic Early Childhood Education Program and the Southern Alberta Art Gallery.
Spring Nature Fest offers a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, including geocaching, scavenger hunts, building challenges, arts and crafts and a loose parts playground.
“The arrival of spring has everyone buzzing with enthusiasm,” says Jessica Deacon-Rogers. “Spring Nature Fest is a wonderful opportunity for families to get outside and enjoy the subtle transformations in the landscape, along with the unmistakable signs spring is in full swing.”
The Centre is open year-round and in March the hours are 1-4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. The current main gallery exhibition features Water Ways – an interactive exhibit designed to teach visitors about the local watershed, rivers, reservoirs, and how personal consumer choices impact water locally and globally.
