Alberta’s police watchdog is looking for anyone who was in the area and witnessed the events that led up to the death of a man who was in police custody.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team is investigating a March 23rd incident, where Lethbridge Police Service officers responded to a call about an unwanted man at a Lethbridge home. Officers arrested the man and are reported to have physically restrained him before putting him into a police vehicle. According to police the suspect was found unresponsive a short time later and was taken to hospital where he passed away at the beginning of April.
ASIRT investigators are looking into the use of force and are asking anyone who saw what happened to contact investigators by calling 403-592-4306.
