Two more locations approved for food trucks and mobile vending

There are now five approved locations in Lethbridge where food trucks and mobile vending machines can set up on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the City of Lethbridge.

Three locations were part of a 2024 pilot program:

  • Indian Battle Park
  • Lethbridge Sports Park
  • Park ‘n’ Bark Dog Park

New for 2025 are the additions of:

  • Atso Towaawa Park
  • Nicholas Sheran Leisure Centre

All five locations have designated food truck parking areas.

New this year, all food trucks in Lethbridge need an inspection by a Fire Prevention Officer before they can get the green light to operate. Once they pass the inspection, they’ll receive an approval window decal and certificate. This inspection and approval process happens once a year. There is no charge for the initial inspection and approval.

Food truck vendors selling on public property require a Mobile Vending Permit. Merchants can contact 3-1-1 and ask to speak to the traffic technologist or parking coordinator. Retailers wishing to access other City parks can also contact 3-1-1.

For more details, including additional operational and safety requirements, check out the City’s website.
