Lethbridge Police have charged three people after a 39-year-old male was allegedly assaulted, kidnapped and unlawfully confined in a residence until he was eventually able to escape.
On Apr. 21, police responded to a report of an alleged assault.
Investigation determined a man had attended a southside home during the early morning hours and was threatened and assaulted by multiple subjects. The man was taken to a westside home and confined for several hours before he was able to escape.
The victim sustained a serious head injury and had property stolen in the attack, including his GMC truck. One of the subjects later contacted the victim in an attempt to extort money from him in exchange for the return of his property.
The incident was targeted between known parties and was motivated by a dispute over money.
Following further investigation, a female subject was arrested Apr. 27, and two male subjects were arrested Apr. 28 and Apr. 29.
Kristylyn Nichole Healy, 37, of Lethbridge, is charged with alleged kidnapping, unlawful confinement, robbery, extortion, assault with a weapon, attempted obstruction of justice and two counts of uttering threats. Healy was remanded in custody and was scheduled to attend her first court appearance this week.
Scott Cameron Sleightholm, 50, of Lethbridge, is charged with alleged kidnapping, unlawful confinement, robbery and assault with a weapon. Sleightholm was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court May 5.
Steven Bruce Isele, 53, of Lethbridge, is charged with alleged kidnapping, unlawful confinement, robbery and assault with a weapon. Isele was remanded to appear in court May 1.
The victim’s stolen truck remains outstanding.
