Veronica Raine is an independent singer-songwriter from Southern Alberta, known for her heartfelt storytelling and intimate performances. She’s been featured on 88.1’s Southern Alberta Songwriter Showcase, was a finalist in the YYC Songwriter Showdown, and recently contributed to The Calgary Songsmiths Vol. 3, a non-profit compilation of original songs. Blending folk, pop, and indie influences, her music is defined by lyrical depth and a genuine connection with listeners.
Formed in 2017 in Lethbridge, Alberta, The Decadent Phase brings a fresh take on psychedelic rock, infusing elements of folk music and progressive rock. Drawing influence from CSNY, the Beatles, and Jethro Tull, as well as Blind Melon, Blitzen Trapper, and other modern psychedelic acts, the Decadent Phase brings a vibrant enthusiasm and witticism not often seen in the genre. Consisting of James Swinney (vocals, rhythm guitar, harmonica), Tyler Eresman (lead guitar), Isaac Neufeld (percussion, vocals), Josh Horz (keys, guitar, vocals), and Keely Evanoff (bass), the Phase maintains a sense of humour and lyrical wit while discussing major modern concerns, including climate change, income inequality, and work culture, as well as heartbreak and addiction. Their debut self-titled EP was released in August 2022 and is available on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music, and every major streaming platform.
