While filming 'Fallen Heroes: Their Journey Home' on August 20, 2022, in the hills overlooking the South Saskatchewan River, Willy MacDonald (centre) was bitten by a rattlesnake. Co-director Robert Curtin said he refused to tell anyone. "We had a medic on set but Willy wouldn't let on that he was injured. He didn't want to be sent away. He wanted to be there to tell this story and he continued to act with us for three days through the pain." Curtin said he and Karen Storwick were never aware until two years later when MacDonald informed them. (Photo: Zak Souter-Lukas)
