A southern Alberta Pride Week is at risk of being cancelled.
Project Rainbow Medicine Hat, which runs the September event, says organizations that have long-provided services, resources, and events for the LGBTQ community have lost funding or have been shut down entirely.
Members say they’re doing their best to fund and source this year’s Pride Week by pooling available resources but they need help.
They’ve set up a GoFundMe page called “Help Save Medicine Hat Pride Week” with the goal of raising $3,000.
Project Rainbow Medicine Hat is also looking for silent auction items, volunteers, and event performers.
