LETHBRIDGE, AB – Some very good news when it comes to the province’s fight to keep the number of COVID-19 cases down.
Alberta reported 195 news cases of the virus on Tuesday (Feb. 9), the lowest daily new case count in months.
That’s quite positive given where the case counts were a month ago.
Across the province, the number of hospitalizations continues to drop too, now sitting at 427 and the test positivity rate has also fallen to 3.2%.
Chief Medical Health Officer, Dr. Deena Hinshaw says these provincial trends are very encouraging.
Locally, Lethbridge confirmed 16 new cases of COVID-19 in Tuesday’s update. That accounts for most of the 23 new cases identified in AHS South Zone in this latest update. The active case count here in the city is up to 189 (from 177 on Monday).
