UPDATE: Teenage girl approached by unknown man at Lethbridge pool

UPDATE: Lethbridge Police say they’ve wrapped up a recent suspicious person case without charges.

Last Tuesday, the LPS issued a media release asking for public information after a man drove up to a 14 year old girl near the Stan Siwik Pool and repeatedly asked her to go to lunch with him.

Officers were able to identify the man and say he was cooperative in attending the police station.

The 32 year old admitted to speaking with the girl but says he believed she was over the age of 18.

(ORIGINAL STORY) Lethbridge police are investigating after a teenage girl was approached by a man she didn’t know over the weekend and repeatedly asked to go for lunch.

It happened Sunday afternoon at about 1 o’clock in front of the Stan Siwik Pool.

Police say a man drove up to the 14 year old girl and began speaking with her and then asked her a number of times to go to lunch with him.

He left, heading west on 15th avenue north, when she told him her parents were on the way.

The suspect is described as a black male, 30 to 40 years old, bald and wearing dark clothing. He was driving an older model, Honda Civic.

Anyone in the area who may have seen the interaction is asked to call police.
