Taber residents asked to help eliminate intrusive weed

An Alberta regulated noxious weed has been found growing in parts of Taber.

The Taber Police Service Community Standards Unit says Field Bindweed has been spotted growing on lawns and boulevards.

Police say the pink or purple flowers look quite nice on first sight, but are actually quite intrusive. Field Bindweed can easily overcome native species and spread if not controlled or eliminated.

Taber residents are asked to take measures to control the spread and growth of the vine.

For more information on Field Bindweed, contact the Taber Police Service.
