Calgary man charged in connection to Lethbridge dealership B & E; stolen plates

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A Calgary man is facing charges here in Lethbridge in relation to stolen vehicles and licence plates.

25 year old Eric Christopher Smith was arrested and charged Tuesday.

Lethbridge Police say officers spotted a vehicle on the west side with a licence plate reported stolen out of Calgary.

Charges were also laid in connection to an incident on July 2 when a stolen vehicle was used to ram into a garage bay door at a car dealership along 5 avenue north.

A new truck worth $68,000 was taken and later recovered with a stolen licence plate.

Smith has been charged with commercial break and enter, three counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000 and operation of motor vehicle while prohibited.
