Rescue cats missing from Lethbridge facility after outside enclosure cut open by vandals

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Volunteers with the Last Chance Cat Ranch in Lethbridge are hoping to bring five missing cats back home after their outside enclosure was cut open by vandals.

Earlier this week, two intruders entered the back yard in the early morning hours and cut the wire mesh on the cat patio attached to the garage.

Nine of the 14 cats who occupy that space escaped and as of Wednesday afternoon, five are still missing.

Officials say all but one of the missing cats are shy which makes it difficult for people to get close.

Traps are set and volunteers are out looking.

However, the Last Chance Cat Ranch respectively asks the general public not to come to the neighbourhood but to send them a message if a missing cat is spotted.

Lethbridge Police and the ASPCA have both been notified and an investigation is underway.
