Lethbridge County to consider allowing Off Highway Vehicles on local roads

Lethbridge County Council is set to decide if Off Highway Vehicles should be allowed to travel on county roads.

The Bylaw will be brought forward for third and final reading during a special council meeting next Thursday morning, July 4th.

If adopted, OHVs will be allowed to travel on county roads which removes restrictions to the farming community as they work in and around their fields.

Anyone operating an Off Highway Vehicle on county roads would have to be licensed and the OHV registered and insured.

The proposed bylaw also includes restrictions on the time of day the vehicles can be operated as well as their maximum speed.

The meeting will be held in Council Chambers at the Lethbridge administration office at 11am.
