“An inspiration to others”: Ric Suggitt honoured for selfless organ donation

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A Lethbridge man has been given a special honour, even after his death.

Ric Suggitt received this year’s Logan Boulet Award, and was recognized nationally earlier this week at an annual event hosted by Canadian Blood Services.

Ric was the coach of the University of Lethbridge women’s rugby team, and he was also Logan Boulet’s trainer for a period of time.

Sadly, Ric died in 2017 after suffering a brain hemorrhage, however before he passed, he made the decision to donate his organs. That selfless act helped save a number of lives.

Canadian Blood Services says Ric continues to be an inspiration to others, especially with the one-year anniversary of the opening of the Lethbridge plasma donation centre coming up on December 22.
