ENSIGN, AB – A significant train derailment in Vulcan County Monday.
An Alberta Emergency Alert was issued around 11:30am after 39 cars carrying residual amounts of Anhydrous Ammonia or Liquid Petroleum went off the tracks just northwest of Ensign.
CP Rail is managing the situation and no evacuations were necessary.
No local roads were impacted either.
Rail service was expected to be up and running again by early Monday evening.
