Festival square construction pausing for winter months

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Construction at Festival Square in downtown Lethbridge is wrapping up for the winter.

Concrete work is expected to be done this week and once cured, there will be more movement in the area.

Officials say 6th Street South between 3rd and 4th Avenues is expected to re-open as is the adjacent laneway.

Fencing will remain around the plaza component though.

Once construction season gets going again in the spring, the project should be done by June.

The revamped Festival Square is billed as a versatile, active and engaging public space, offering year round permanent market space.
