St. Francis school cleared after Lethbridge Police investigate threat

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Another Lethbridge school was the subject of an unspecified threat.

The Holy Spirit Catholic School Division decided, as a precautionary measure, to keep students and staff within three schools for a period time Thursday after a threat was received at St. Francis Junior High.

That decision impacted people at Catholic Central High School, St. Francis, and Ecole St. Mary. Officials says the Lethbridge Police Service was called in to investigate, however nothing was found and all three schools were cleared to resume regular schedules by 2:30 pm.

Youth Engagement Officers with the LPS responded to a report that a threat had been written on school property at St. Francis. The investigation determined there was no risk to anyone in the school.

This follows similar incidents earlier in the week when Winston Churchill and Lethbridge Collegiate Institute were both evacuated because of unfounded threats.
