Special Olympics Polar Plunge fundraiser back in-person for 2022

LETHBRIDGE, AB – After being forced to go online last year, Lethbridge’s Polar Plunge is back in-person this winter in support of Special Olympics athletes.

You’re being encouraged by the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) to collect donations for the cause, then take the icy dip yourself on Feb. 5 over at Henderson Lake. All participants must agree to comply with the Alberta Restrictions Exemption Program and health measures will be in place.

If you’d rather participate from home, you can also sign up for the virtual option to come up with your own creative plunge ideas on your own time.

Registration and donations are being accepted now on the LETR for Special Olympics website.

I started my radio career in 2015, shortly after graduating from Lethbridge College. I have a very strong passion for local news. Proudly born in 1994, I grew up most of my life in Sylvan Lake, AB and I've lived in the Lethbridge since 2012. I'm a below average golfer on a good day, I take as many hiking trips to Waterton as possible in the summer and I love my two cats, Outlaw and Jynx, and my dog, Maverick, more than most people I know. I look forward to providing accurate, timely news coverage in southern Alberta for plenty of years to come!
