Irrigation issues leaving new Legacy Park brown & dry

If you’re a user of the new Legacy Park on the city’s north side, you may have noticed the grass is looking a lot browner than normal.

A system failure has shut down all irrigation in the park, leaving the grass with no extra water.

Lethbridge’s Parks Department says it’s working on a solution including temporary irrigation until the main watering system is fixed.

The city says although the grass may appear to be dead in Legacy Park, it is just dormant and will revive once irrigation resumes.

It’s to be noted new grass establishment takes around two years for full growth.
