For the first time since 2013, Lethbridge College will have a new President and CEO after Dr. Paula Burns announced she will leave the institution at the end of May.
Dr. Burns says the care she has for the community won’t end with her tenure and will remain forever proud of all that has been accomplished over her nine years at the helm.
“I am confident I am leaving Lethbridge College in a great place, with an excellent Executive Leadership Team and Board of Governors in place. Our college is filled with people who embrace challenges, put our students first and see that our college is at its strongest when we work together and support each other.”
Among the highlights of Dr. Burns’s time at the college is the largest project in the history of the school, which saw the opening of the Trades, Technologies, and Innovation Facility in 2017. Burns says she is also proud of Lethbridge College’s increased role in what she calls the fabric of southern Alberta.
“Lethbridge College plays a vital role in the local economy, supporting industry, attracting and retaining skilled employees in the region, and working closely with a wide variety of community partners to advance the interests of this region in the province, across the country and internationally.”
The facilities Board of Governors says it will Leth begin the search for a replacement immediately. Burns is the eighth President in Lethbridge College history.
