Northside fire causes estimated $1.25 million in damage, no injuries

Crews from four different fire stations responded to a fire at a fourplex in the 500 block of 9 Ave N that caused an estimated
$1.25 million in damage late Monday night.

Lethbridge Fire and EMS attended the scene around 1:15 p.m. to find fire coming out of the roof, according to a city news release.
“Crews were able to contain the fire to the fourplex with no spread to neighbouring homes,” it said.
 
All occupants were accounted for and no injuries were reported, but several pets were missing. The estimated damage is $1.25 million.
 
Crews were notified at about 11:35 p.m. of another fire in the 500 block of 13 Street South. On arrival, crews were faced with a working fire throughout the structure. Lethbridge Fire & EMS received assistance from Coalhurst and Coaldale fire departments to assist with the second fire. 
 
There were no injuries to residents or firefighters and the estimated damage is $150,000.  Both fires are under investigation.
