Blood Tribe police officer facing sex assault charges

A Blood Tribe Police Service member has been arrested and charged with two counts of sexual assault.

It’s alleged that in early February 2017, Constable Bradley Chief Body touched a female officer over the clothing without consent during two separate incidents while they were both on duty. Further information from the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) indicates that she reported what happened to a supervisor after the second incident.

An investigation by ASIRT concluded there are reasonable grounds to believe that offences had been committed. Charges were then laid following consultation with the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service.

Chief Body, a 10-year constable with the Blood Tribe Police Service, has since been suspended with pay. He’s scheduled to appear in Lethbridge Provincial Court on August 21.

Police say no further information will be provided as the matter is now before the courts.

I started my radio career in 2015, shortly after graduating from Lethbridge College. I have a very strong passion for local news. Proudly born in 1994, I grew up most of my life in Sylvan Lake, AB and I've lived in the Lethbridge since 2012. I'm a below average golfer on a good day, I take as many hiking trips to Waterton as possible in the summer and I love my two cats, Outlaw and Jynx, and my dog, Maverick, more than most people I know. I look forward to providing accurate, timely news coverage in southern Alberta for plenty of years to come!
