Lethbridge man facing charges after traffic stop results in $51,000 worth of drug seizures

A 54-year-old man is facing multiple charges after Lethbridge police seized $51,000 worth of drugs during a targeted traffic stop. Officers arrested the man on Nov. 30 in the 300 block of 3 St. S without incident.

Police say about 193 grams of methamphetamine, 88 grams of fentanyl, 135 grams of cocaine, seven grams of crack cocaine and $1,520 cash proceeds of crime were found in the vehicle.

Jeffrey Steven Martens of Lethbridge, faces four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of the proceeds of crime and failing to comply with an undertaking. In addition to the charges, police say Martens also had multiple outstanding warrants.

He is currently in custody awaiting a judicial interim release hearing.
