Downtown road closures set as Moonlight Run goes Saturday

The Moonlight Run is taking place on Saturday and the City of Lethbridge is advising residents of road closures.

Beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 18th, 8th Street South from 2nd to 3rd Avenue will be closed.

Starting at 6 p.m., 3rd Avenue South both east and west bound lanes from Stafford Drive to Scenic Drive South and down to Indian Battle Park will be closed, 200 block of Scenic Drive South will be closed, and vehicle access to Indian Battle Park will also be closed.

These closures will allow organizer and runners to take part in the Moonlight Run safely.

The city says roads will be reopened as the even progresses and all roads should be reopened by 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.

These closures may also impact transit, users can check route detours on the MyRide app or call 311 during business hours.

Those driving in the area are asked to do so with caution and follow any posted detours.

The 36th Moonlight Run begins at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 18th.
