If you’re noticing an different then usual odour coming from your taps, don’t worry, the city’s treatment plant has just increased the dose of Chlorine in the municipal water supply.

The City of Lethbridge says the water treatment plant will be increasing the chlorine dosages due to spring run-off and ensuring the water is treated properly.

While there may be a slight odour or taste coming from any residential water source, the water is still safe to drink and use as normal.

Any taste or odour of the water will clear up as the treatment adjustments take effect and the water in the system is consumed.
