Community Event Support Grant applications being accepted until May 1st

Applications for the Community Event Support Grant are being accepted at the City of Lethbridge until May 1st.

The grants help to provide funding support for not-for-profit organizations that will initiate and help to develop new events or help with existing events.

The funds from the grant will be able to help with the operation of the event or help with services and facility rentals provided by the city like special events staff labour costs for setup and take down, logistical  services like traffic signs and barricades, transportation via transit services, city facility rentals, and police or fire services.

Some of the events that eligible for the grant include sport competitions, community events, conferences, and advocacy.

the maximum amount organizations can receive through the grant is a matching contributions up to $7,500, as long as it doesn’t exceed 50 per cent of the event budget. Some past examples of events that funding has gone to includes the International Peace PowWow, the YWCA Queen Elizabeth ll’s Platinum Jubilee Award Ceremony, YMCA – Ready Set Go, and Family Centre’s National Child Day.

Application deadline for the Community Event Support Grant is May 1st at 4:30 p.m. More information and application forms can be found the City of Lethbridge’s website.
