Parks, cemetery irrigation delayed due to colder than expected temperatures

Spring maintenance and irrigation startup for some parks and cemeteries have been delayed a few weeks due to colder temperatures this spring.

In a release, the City of Lethbridge says when the warmer temperatures sticks around operations will resume as normal.

With ongoing irrigation issues, park users may see some longer watering periods then normal at Legacy Park. The full irrigation cycle is taking around three times longer, with a watering window of 18 plus hours.

The city’s Park & Cemeteries irrigation department is focusing on watering less used areas in peak hours.
