Lethbridge man celebrates $55 million Lotto Max win

A Lethbridge man is celebrating the largest Lotto Max win in the city’s history. Aaron Parsons says he could not believe it when he saw he won $55 million.

“I started shaking violently,” he says. “I was just super overwhelmed, anxious, excited, happy, cries a little bit. Went home and told my girlfriend that we won and she didn’t believe it at first.”

Parsons says he quit his job and plans to fund his parents’ retirement. “I am taking my girlfriend to Disneyland. It’s cliché but it’s true,” he says, adding he is going to look into real estate and buy a few cars.

For about the last ten years, Parsons has bought lottery tickets nearly every week and says this is the first win he has wanted to call somebody to tell them about.

The win is the fifth largest in Alberta.
