Charges laid in connection to north Lethbridge standoff

Lethbridge police have laid charges in connection to an incident where a man barricaded himself in a home on June 6.

Officers went to a home in the 1900 block of 13 St. N around 8 a.m. to execute arrest warrants stemming from a domestic assault.

“Following numerous attempts to get the male to exit the residence, members of the Critical Incident Team were deployed. Further attempts to negotiate with the subject were unsuccessful and police deployed a chemical agent which resulted in the subject exiting the home and being taken safely into custody,” reads a news release from the Lethbridge Police Service.

Logan Conrad Richard Drake, 31, of Lethbridge, faces charges of failing to comply with release conditions and resisting a peace officer. He is currently in custody awaiting a release hearing.
