Lethbridge police seek witnesses to help in assault investigation

Lethbridge police are looking for witnesses or dashcam footage that can help in an assault investigation.

Officers responded to a report of three people assaulting a man on the corner of 13 St. N and 3 Ave. N. around 9:43 p.m. on July 12. The 47-year-old victim sustained blunt force trauma injuries and police say he refused to go to the hospital with paramedics.

Police and EMS were called to the victim’s home the next day, where he was found to be in medical distress. “EMS transported the male to Chinook Regional Hospital and he was later transferred to Calgary for treatment of a significant head injury. He remains in hospital in serious but stable condition,” reads a news release from the Lethbridge Police Service.

Officers were unable to find any suspects and are asking anyone who may have seen the assault or has dashcam footage in the area of 13 Street North from 3 Avenue North to Highway 3/Crowsnest Trail between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on July 12 to contact them.
