Pincher Creek emergency room to close overnight this weekend

The Pincher Creek Health Centre emergency room will have overnight closures over the weekend because of a lack of physician coverage.

Alberta Health Services says it will be closed from 7:30 p.m. until 7:30 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday night.

“During the temporary closure, nursing staff will remain on-site to provide care for inpatients and physician support will be available by phone,” reads a news release from Alberta Health Services. “AHS is working hard to ensure local residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time.”

Emergency calls will be handled the Cardston Health Centre, Crowsnest Pass Health Centre, Fort Macleod Health Centre or Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge.

AHS reminds residents to call Health Link at 811 for non-emergency health related questions.
