‘Living Dragons’ exhibit coming to Whoop Up Days

A fan-favourite exhibit is returning to Lethbridge for Whoop Up Days.

The Wildlife Festival is bringing Living Dragons an exhibit which features iguanas, snakes, dragons and more to Whoop Up Days. The exhibit will look at the similarities between the mythical beasts and our real-world reptiles.

“We have seen first-hand the excitement the Wildlife Festival brings each time they visit,” says Mike Warkentin, Lethbridge and District Exhibition CEO. “The opportunity for visitors to see and interact with these animals brings joy to all ages, and we know it will add an exciting element to Whoop-Up Days. It continues our commitment to ensuring there is a variety of entertainment for everyone.”

The Wildlife Festival interactive experience will highlight the animals and their habitats with a mission to inspire and educate those of all ages. There will be educational displays and some interactive experiences with the goal to teach, entertain and delight those in attendance.

“Dragons have captured humans’ imaginations for thousands of years and reptiles have many similarities to the mythical creatures,” says Jason Clevett, with the Wildlife Festival. “This will allow visitors to have up-close experiences with dragons, iguanas, snakes, and more, without the fire breathing. Explore the connections between the scaled beasts of stories and our own Living Dragons!”

Whoop Up Days runs from Aug. 22 to 26 and this year, admission will be free. The Living Dragons exhibit will be located in Salon A of the Agrifood Hub and Trade Centre and will be open until 8 p.m.
