Last week to swap garbage or recycling cart sizes for free

You’ve got one week left to switch up the size of your blue recycling bins or black garbage carts for free.

The City of Lethbridge says most residents already have the largest size of garbage cart but can request a smaller size if they find they are no longer producing as much waste since the introduction of curbside recycling.

Alternatively, if residents find their garbage bin isn’t big enough to handle bi-weekly pick-up, they can request a second black cart but at an additional monthly charge.

The deadline to exchange the size of your carts for free is this Friday, August 16th.

After that there will be a $100 fee for exchanging cart sizes.
